!!!!!! UPDATE !!!!!!

JUNE 1999

Well, it's been a couple of years since I got on the web so here's the update for those who are interested. I was promoted to my present rank of Police Sergeant I on July 26, 1998. On the month of March, 1999, I was officialy transferred from Operations Division, Training & Staff Development Section to the Support Division, Logistics Section - Armory Unit as the Officer-In-Charge. I am still one the departments main Firearms Instructor as well as Armorer. Although I do regret that I had to transfer out of the training section, (which I had been for six years). I accepted the challenge as a newly promoted sergeant to head one of the most intricate and delicate sections within the Guam Police Department. I guess you can call it career growth. I am still involved with the firearms training by which I am now able to focus my attention to the departments firearms on a full time basis. My oldest daughter is now a precocious four year old starting out at pre-k classes and my youngest is now one. Will keep you updated on major changes in my life and career. Remember STAY SAFE!!

!!!!!! UPDATE !!!!!!

January 14, 2001

Well, i'ts moving time again. Effective this date, I have been transferred to the Neighborhood Patrol Division, Hagatna Precinct Command as the Operations Sergeant. I went from the O-I-C of the Armory, Supply and General Maintenance Section (to which I had a two (2) civilian subordinates), to one that has over twenty Police Officers. Talk about career growth. I accept the challenge that has been given to me. I guess the I need this assignment to advance my career opportunities and be ready for the next step....... Police Lieutenant. More to come later.

October 1, 2001

It's been nine months and here I go again. It's with a heavy heart that I leave my assignment as the Operations Sergeant of the Hagatna Precicnct Command. After twenty years of loyalty and dedication to the department, I have been treated like .... I think I'll leave it at that and not say anymore. I am now back to the Support Division, Armory Unit. For those who know me, truly know me, know the truth of it all. I have about five years left before retirement.

Well, it's now January 30, 2003. After the devastation that Typhoon Pongsona (pronounced Bong-son-wa) left behind, we have a new Chief of Police. Welcome (former GPD Major) Earl C. Aguigui. Chief Aguigui has under taken a huge task and defintely has his hands full. I know that he can lead us through one of the darkest times in the history of the department. If anyone can do it, Chief Aguigui can!

!!!!!! UPDATE (March 7, 2004) !!!!!!

WOW! What can I say since last post (see above...lol). Major Aguigui has retired and left the department without being confirmed as the Chief of Police. We welcome an old face to GPD. Acting Chief Frankie T. Ishizaki. Chief Ishizaki was the founder and innovator of the original GPD (DPS at that time) Forensics Lab. Frankie went on to bigger and better things with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (F.B.I.) and even retiring from the Bureau as the Senior Resident Agent In Charge in Guam. Those of us know the hardships that we had to endure and hope and pray that's all in the past. As for me, I was transferred out of the Armory Unit, Support Division (in March of 2003)back out to the precincts. I was assigned to the Hagatna Precinct, Agat Precinct, as well as one of the departments R.A.C. (Response Activities Coordinator) up at the Office of Civil Defense right before the war, and stayed there for about a month and a half. My last assignment was being the Senior Supervisory Sergeant (Acting Deputy Commander) for the Dededo Precinct. I say with pride that the officers that I had supervised and worked with are definitely high speed. As of this date, I have been transferred back to the Support Division, not only as the Armorer but also as the Assistant O-I-C. Support Division encompasses Evidential Property, Armory, Fleet Maintenance and the Tactical Operations Command.

!!!!! UPDATE (JULY 2005) !!!!!

On December 26, 2004, I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant II (Staff Sergeant)and was transferred (office wise) to the Records & ID building) to better serve the public in having a central location whereby the firearm inspections and registrations are completed in one building. The actual arms room is still located within the Evidential Control Section building. My daughters are now 10 and 7 and growing up real fast. Lord help me when they start liking boys!!!!!!! "Gonna have to get my shotgun handy" (J/K)

!!!!! UPDATE (August 2008) !!!!!

Wow! I can't believe that it's been three years since my last post. Well, In March of this year, I was abruptly transferred out of the Armory on the pretense that all the Sergeant II's were to be relocated out to the precincts (all three of us). Since then, one of the Sergeant II's has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and the other Sergeant II is still assigned to his command (so there goes that excuse for my transfer out). Do I feel that my transfer was personal? Yes, I truly believe so. The other reason why I was transferred was to ressurect the Police sub-station program in the village of Yigo. Even though the boss admitted that I could have easily coordinated that while still assigned to the Armory, the "man" was adamant about my being transferred out. So I am now the Deputy Commander of the Dededo Precinct. Although, consideration was afforded me due to my disability, I would like to thank my Commander for the accomodations that he is affording me. I have about two more years till I am eligible for full retirement, I was really looking forward to retiring out of the Armory. I am still holding on to hope that I will soon be back there. My girls are now 13 and 10 respectively and the oldest will be in high school next year. Be careful, and stay safe all!
